Lucinda Drayton (Bliss)

A stunning solo performance from Bliss vocalist Lucinda Drayton

After creating an impressive body of work with Bliss. (Known best for A Hundred Thousand Angels) Both Sides sees Lucinda reveal herself as a consummate vocal interpreter of other people's songs. A true story teller, as all the great singers are.

The collection includes the classic Fields of Gold by Sting, the haunting Kate Rusby ballad, Underneath The Stars and the deeply touching story of St Bernadette by Leonard Cohen.

Lucinda tackles the challenging Overjoye d by Stevie Wonder with ease and adds her own Thank you for all of it, a song listing all of things she is thankful for which ties in with her workshops on the Power of Gratitude

One of the most powerful songs is by a relatively unknown band called Miracle Mile. The Dust Will Shape Your Sins is a moving goodbye which shows off Lucinda's soulful side and features jazz flugel by Chris Bachelor

Each song has been given a new flavour and Lucinda has managed to hold her own even against the greats such as Joni Mitchel. Her heart rending version of Both Sides Now with solo Guitar played by Phil Hudson is a real grower.

Lucinda has always wanted to record some of her favourite songs and

Both Sides is the result. It is a Cd for the car, for those times of quiet reflection and unwinding. Its thought provoking and definitely a one to hold onto.
